So we had a great meeting with some great minds last night and while all of you guys were out partying and drinking, we were planning "THE FUTURE". YUME will be going through some drastic changes within the inner sanctum of YUME upper management and boy are these changes going to be something grand for YUME. Change is innevitable and happens all the time. YUME is a thing that is constantly shifting and changing and all for the better.

The projects that will unfold due to this change will be a great step towards "THE FUTURE". The new faces of YUME will be revealed shortly (or will they, lol) We love the mystery behind what we do, its like just when you thought you had us figured we switched it up on you. Look out for YUME 2.0 and other projects launching within the next few months.

So yes we have been working on a bunch of different projects and have begin putting together strong relationships with Universities and Colleges. (THE YUME PROJECT LOL) We have an up and coming project that was connected through a good friend of ours over at YUME to celebrate Black History Month. So the question has been arising, who is YUME, and how do you know this person. Well its kind of crazy, but someone has literally started puting up signs, and leaflets asking people to find YUME. We have yet to get out hands on one, but when we do believe you me it will be posted up on this blog. DO YOU KNOW YUME? So we got whif of this new sneaker line that we are in love with over here at YUME (GOTTA COP! LOL). The brand is called HEYDay, and they focus on high end foot wear with a nice twist to it. They are deffinitely giving these other brands a run for their money. Please make sure to peep the YUME FAM'S feet when you see them, you may have to ask "WHERE DID YOU GET THOSE?" (where else silly head,lol). Peep the description and the pics.

Heyday ups the ante for Fall 08 by utilizing antiqued Italian calf skin and calf suede in fresh, yet wearable color combinations. Screen printed canvas linings and molded PU footbeds keep you cool and comfortable all day in the Rumspringa Low, Boat shoe and Jerry Boot styles.

One of Heyday's new styles for Spring 08 and carrying over into Fall 08 is the Shift. The Shift features an eyestay that "shifts" off course allowing the laces to play a bigger part of the overall design. Unlike many other styles, the Shift is not vulcanized. It uses a 2-3 color molded outsole featuring the Heyday logo split in two, which combines into a full logo when the left and right shoes are placed together. The footbed is molded EVA for increased comfort over its competitors. The Spring 2008 styles are leather and canvas while all of the Fall 2008 styles are antiqued Italian calf skin and calf suede. The spring styles drop in Hong Kong in early February and in the US and Canada in April at retailers including The Tannery, SportieLA, Soula, Firebrand and EiLatan.

We met these guys vending on the street this past summer (as you know YUME holds the street vendors down)and have had a great relationship with them since, summer 07. They have produced a couple tees and most of their stuff is hand made. But we have asked them to produce us one of our favorite tees "DON'T SLEEP". We will be releasing this tee in March only 100 will be made, they will be exclusive to YUME and they will be affordable($25). WHAT A DEAL RIGHT! Make sure you come through and cop one, as they may never be produced again. Much love to the A.DREAM FAM. We see you out there getting your grind on.

WOW! We believe in growing organically and being able to make change constant in the midst of constant change. We would like to thank the individuals who have helped us reach our 10,000 mark and above of views. I know there are blogs that get 80,000 views a day, but this is a major accomplishment for us. So I kinow you've heard us speak about THE YUME PROJECT, and you are wondering exactly what it is, that will be revealed rather shortly, but it is important not to loose sight that everything we do is calcualted and for THE YUME PROJECT. We had the pleasure of having MELO-X shoot CHECK MY STYLE! and VENUS add her flavor to it (she is a dope Creatie Director, the props she brought were crazy!) which serves a very important piece to "the project."

THE YUME PROJECT PART 1

Rahsaan is going to recieve an award for BEST MALE SOLO PERFORMER of 2007. And if you know like we know, Rahsaan deffinitely deserves this award, as he always works hard on and off stage. The 2007 U-N-I Awards will take place on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Club Snitch, 59 W21 Street New York, NY. The show starts at 8:00pm and is open to the general public 21 & older. We hope to see you there!

So as usual we always like to keep you abreast of some music that we find in our travels, and since our scope of music is world wide, we always bring you different music from different parts of the world. Once again we are back to highlighting someone from Japan. These cats are crazy a production crew called STARWAX, a U.S. swag all the way in Japan. Of course we know Hip Hop is universal, but these cats are taking it to another level. Check them out!

STARWAX - JACOB DIGITAL

I originally came to Japan in 2002 with the dream of producing Japanese hip-hop, but not speaking the language or knowing anybody it was kinda difficult to make connections. I just kept going to the clubs and trying to connect with rappers. After about 1 year of grinding, I was finally able to make the right connection at an Indie hip-hop label. There I started as one of their in-house producers for about 1 year, producing artists such as Corn Head, BRIER, etc. Around 2003 I met one of the head A&R's at Avex Entertainement, the biggest record label in Japan and he really liked my sound. Since then I've worked predominantly with Avex artists such as ARIA, LISA from m-flo, 24-7, Tohoshinki, and Koda Kumi. I also had the honor to work with Nitro Microphone Underground, one of Tokyo's most respected hip-hop groups., on their latest CD, "Special Force". Overall it's been a great experience to work with so many different talented people, and looking forward to more music in 2008!

STARWAX Music has been changing the sound of Japanese music ever since 2003. Originally from the US, but now living in Tokyo, STARWAX has gone from success to success producing multiple R&B/Hip-Hop artists in Japan such as Lisa from M-Flo, Nitro Microphone Underground, YA-KYIM, Twenty4-7, ARIA, and the list goes on. Besides it being a dope ass party, it was meant to bridge personal FASHION style, with artistic expression, through MUSIC X ART in a social atmosphere. These are 3 of the 4 core values of YUME.

We decided to highlight FLY LADY DI because she epitomizes the YUME values, along with having a dope style, she has a great foundation for success. I mean sheesh she came to YUME with MARIO VAN PEEBLES, WHO DOES THAT! YUME represents the bridge between artisans and the community.
