About Tokyo Kareem
Tokyo Kareem, founder and CEO of Hertzog LYD L.L.C., holds a Bachelors of Business Administration with a major of Management Information Systems and a minor in Asian Studies from Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland.
After graduating from Loyola College, Tokyo Kareem was accepted into the esteemed JET (Japan Exchange Teaching) Program. This program gave Tokyo Kareem the opportunity to live and work in Japan. While living in Japan, Tokyo Kareem took the initiative to develop a better understanding of the Japanese culture and improved his language proficiency through relationships with the natives. Traveling throughout Japan and spending time in major cities such as Tokyo, Yokohama, Kyoto, and Osaka to name a few, Tokyo Kareem expanded on his curiosity for Asian cultures and created ways to venture into South East Asian countries.
Tokyo Kareem helped organize two Habitat For Humanity builds in both India and the Phillippines. These experiences helped him broaden his perspective on the differences between Asian cultures, which are very similar to the differences between African-American cultures. These experiences gave him the confidence to travel the world with no boundaries. Tokyo Kareem has spent Christmas in Thailand, he has climbed Mt. Fuji to the very top in Japan, and participated in a BET (Black Entertainment Television) sponsored Jazz Festival in Ghana
